Tarou is sent to the jungle by himself. He's a sacrifice for Uru, the enormous wolf. Uru deems Tarou to be too small and thin upon viewing him.

He is fed, clothed, and cared for by the wolf. Time passes, and Tarou finds himself yearning to be consumed by this colossal wolf that only shows him kindness.
